Description

The Old Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, as shown on the tithe map of 1843. It has been refenestrated in the 20th century and is constructed from flint cobbles, featuring a hipped thatched roof and a brick chimneystack. The cottage is single-storey with four windows, which are 20th-century casements set in their original openings. It has a plank door and a 20th-century L-wing that consists of two bays, built with matching materials. According to the 1843 tithe map of Kingston, this cottage was listed as property number 50, described as a cottage and garden, with a value of £3-3s-2d per year. It likely originally served as accommodation for farm workers.
