Description

The entrance piers and gates to Silvergates, located at No. 52 on The Drive in Aldwick, were built around 1934. They were designed by Ernest B Glanfield FRIBA, who also designed the main house, Silvergates. The structure features two tall painted brick gatepiers with stepped brick coping, each topped with statues of squirrels. A wrought iron overthrow connects the two piers, and there are double cast and wrought iron vehicle gates that include scrolled spandrels, patterns of intersecting arches, a scrollwork band, and a dograil.
