Description
This is a house, likely dating from the 17th century, although it has been significantly altered in the 19th century and later. It is constructed of bargate rubble stone, painted brick in a Flemish bond pattern, and tile hanging. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The house is two storeys high with an attic, and features a gable end facing the road. A large external stack is located on the right-hand side. The front of the building has a rubblestone plinth, with a brick ground floor featuring a 12-pane window. The upper floors are tile-hung, incorporating decorative bands of pointed tiles and 2-light casement windows. The first floor has 8 panes, and the attic window has 4 panes. A large rubblestone chimney is recessed to the right, with a plastered top and a tall, later brick flue, and a small window positioned below. The left return side is of rubblestone with two later windows on the ground floor, and one 4-light window below the eaves. The right return side includes a 20th-century board door with a window above it. Some timber framing is exposed on the first floor, and there is a small addition to the right. The interior of the house has not been inspected.
