Description
The Hare and Hounds Public House is a building that originally dates back to the 16th century, with a late 19th-century front and various alterations. It features a timber frame that is clad in whitewashed brick at the bottom and tile hanging above. The roof is plain tiled with a front stack positioned to the right of the center.
The building stands two storeys high and has a brick dentil band over the ground floor. It consists of three framed bays, with a 19th-century bay added to the east (right side). The first floor has three casement windows located under the eaves of the gables. On the ground floor, there is an angle bay casement window on the right and a glazing bar sash window to the left of center. A part-glazed door is situated to the right of center.
To the right, there is a single-storey 19th-century extension that projects forward, featuring two glazing bar sash windows. The right end of this extension has double part-glazed doors beneath a flat hood supported by brackets.
