Description
Titsey Place is a house built between 1770 and 1780, later enlarged in the Gothic style in 1831-1832 and further expanded in 1856. The exterior is roughcast with stone dressings and features parapets that partially obscure hipped slate roofs with stacks at the ends. The building has a square plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-storey tower at the left corner. The front has five bays to the right of the tower, which includes stone mullion and transomed casement windows. The tower has angle bay windows on both the ground and first floors, and there is a central battlemented entrance bay with arched doors. On the right-hand return front, there are angle bay casement windows. The interior has not been inspected but is reputed to contain 16th-century panelling and overmantles, carved panelling, and Dutch 18th-century tiles.
