Description
The gate piers and gates to Stanwell Place, located on the south side of Park Road in Stanwell, date from the mid to late 18th century, although they may be Edwardian copies. There are two pairs of ashlar gate piers featuring vermiculated quoins and carved vases on top. The center piers are taller and have relief swags on the panels below a modillion cornice. The wrought-iron gates include arrow head dog-rails and fleur-de-lys cresting on the middle rail, with hinge panels that feature scroll-work filling and capping. The outer piers are connected by plain railings.
