Description
Whyteways is an L-shaped timber-framed building located on Middle Street in Brockham, likely dating from the 17th century and originally consisting of two cottages. The building is situated behind modern extensions that include a west front and a southern addition. The core of the building features an east-west wing that is two storeys high and has two windows, with one window located at the western end on the south side. The structure is built of brick and has an old tiled roof with two levels, featuring a stack to the west of the center on the higher part of the roof. There are two three-light casement windows above with glazing bars, and one window below that has modern square leaded panes, along with a similarly glazed five-light bay that has a tiled roof. The central door is located on the front, and the eastern gable end is tile hung. Some timber framing is visible on the north side, and timbering is also exposed within the building.
