Description
The well-house, located approximately 50 metres south of Bocketts Farmhouse, dates from around 1800 and is constructed of red brick with a red tile roof. It is a square single cell structure featuring a low doorway at the north corner of the east side and an unglazed horizontal rectangular window in the centre of the south side. The well-house has a steeply-pitched pyramidal roof with a gableted apex. Inside, there is a well at the centre, protected by a circular brick wall and covered with a damaged wooden cover. Attached to the rear is the brick wall forming the south side of the farmyard, which extends around the west and north sides as well. The well-house serves as an attractive feature beside the entrance track on the south side of the site and is a valuable part of a notably complete group of farm buildings.
