Description
Little Ballands is part of a former rectory known as Ballands Hall, now functioning as a house. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and has been altered. The building features painted and stuccoed brick with a Welsh slate roof. It has a rectangular shape, with the main elevations facing the garden, consisting of three bays. Notable architectural details include a plinth, 12-pane unhorned sash windows with wooden architraves, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course that conceals the hipped roof. The return elevation has a narrower, recessed bay on the left and a central part-glazed double door. There is also a narrower 20th-century door at the junction with Ballands Hall, and a stuccoed chimney.
On the road elevation, there is applied timber-framing on the first floor, an angled late 20th-century porch on the left, and a late 20th-century bow window on the right. Above these, there are three 19th-century leaded iron casements arranged with one, two, and one lights, along with a rendered stack on the left.
Inside, the ground floor features one original fireplace with a plain stone surround and iron grate, as well as a late 19th-century staircase with turned balusters. On the first floor, there are panelled doors, a landing cupboard, and moulded cornices.
