Description
St Catherine's Barn, located approximately 20 metres south-southwest of Picards Manor, dates from around 1700. It is a timber-framed structure built on a tall rubblestone plinth and features gable ends. The front aisle is constructed of brick and stone, and the roof is plain tiled, extending down in a catslide. The barn consists of seven framed bays with a central entry beneath a gabled midstrey. Inside, there is an earth floor and a staggered butt-purlin roof supported by Queen-post trusses. The main posts flanking the entrance have arched braces, and there is tension bracing above the middle rail. This barn was previously listed as part of Picards Manor.
