Description

Cyder Cottage is a house dating back to the 17th century, with later additions from the 18th and 19th centuries. It is timber-framed and built on a brick and rubble plinth, with whitewashed brick infilling and a weatherboard extension to the left. The roof is covered in plain tiles and is hipped to the left.

The house is two stories high, and features an end chimney house extended to the north. A large brick and stone stack is located at the right (south) end. Diagonal first-floor bracing is visible on the right side of the building. The windows are 20th-century casement windows with diamond panes, six on the first floor and six larger windows below. A half-glazed door is on the left side, and the main door is centrally located within a 20th-century, hip-roofed brick porch. Further double doors and a window are situated in the extension to the left.

The rear elevation also exhibits diagonal first-floor bracing, with a possible older bay towards the centre and right. An old door has been re-used in a recessed entrance to the rear of the stack.
