Description
The Old School House is a house that dates from the mid-16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century and restoration in the 20th century. It has a timber frame that is clad in red and brown brick, with tile hanging at the rear and the frame exposed on the right-hand return front. The roof is steeply pitched and plain tiled, hipped with a gablet on the right side. The building is two storeys high and originally consisted of three framed bays, featuring a large offset stack at the rear of the ridge in the center. To the right, there is a gabled cross wing that has one leaded casement window on each floor. In the center, there are two 20th-century windows located under the eaves, with one window below them. The entrance door is positioned to the right of center. On the left, there is a hip-roofed extension that includes one window on the first floor and three pointed head openings on the ground floor below.
