Description

Stoke Mill House is a house dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It is constructed of red-brown brick with some grey headers, featuring a cement rendered plinth and a plain tiled roof. There is a late 19th century orange brick extension to the left of the original house, which is located at the center. The building is two stories high with attics, and it has two gabled casement dormers. There are corbelled stacks at both ends and a plat band above the ground floor. The front has three bays with 20th century windows in enlarged openings; the outer windows are three-light, while the center window on the first floor is two-light, all with cambered heads over the ground floor windows. A central ribbed and part-glazed door is situated under a hipped hood. To the left, there is a single-storey extension with an attic above and a large corbelled stack at the end. This extension features a gabled half-dormer with two 20th century windows on the first floor and two cambered-head windows on the ground floor. To the right, there is a single-storey range with 19th century windows, one flanking each of two 19th century doors. Inside, some ground floor rooms retain chamfered spine beams.
