Description
These outbuildings, located immediately north of the Golden Ball, date from the late 18th century or early 19th century and have undergone minor later alterations. They are constructed from roughly coursed limestone rubble and feature roofs made of concrete tiles, slate, and stone slate. The buildings are single-storey and consist of three separate sections. The left section has a 20th-century window on the left and a half-glazed door on the right. The central section is open at the front, while the right section has a plank door with fixed-light windows on either side. Attached to the right is a former two-seater privy with paired plank doors.
Inside, the left section has a single-purlin roof with two bays, supported by raking struts from the tie beam to the principal rafters, and includes a bread oven at the right end wall. The central open area features a cast-iron pump with a stone sink, a circular copper sink with a furnace below, and a stone slab for slaughtering pigs. This section has a king-post roof in two bays. The outbuildings are included for their group value.
