Description
Pond House is a late 18th-century house with subsequent additions and alterations. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone rubble, with the left gable end rendered. The roof is covered in stone slates. The house has two storeys and a former gable-lit attic. The front has three windows, which are 19th-century casements with leaded lights, except for the lower right window. The window surrounds retain 18th-century wedged heads. A central entrance features a flush six-panel door, with the upper panels now glazed, and is sheltered by a bracketed flat stone hood. Integral end stacks are present, with the left stack rebuilt in the 20th century. An infilled opening, formerly providing attic lighting, is located in the right gable end. Various 19th-century additions and outbuildings are attached to the rear. The interior includes a stone-flagged central entrance hall and exposed joists in the left ground-floor room.
