Description
This building is a stable with a dovecote above, located 10 meters northwest of Southside. It dates from the late 17th century and is constructed of coursed rubble limestone with quoins, topped by a stone slate roof featuring moulded gable copings, moulded kneelers, and moulded stone finials. The small square structure has two storeys. The east gable end displays a high blocked window with two arched lights, a stone mullion, and a Tudor hoodmould. Below this is a small blocked door in a dressed stone surround with a four-centred head, one stone marked with the initials TD. The north side has doors leading to both the stable and the loft above, while the south side features decorative panels of render and roughcast. It is said to retain nesting boxes. An attached 20th-century car port is not of special architectural interest.
