Description
The Palladian Gateway at Rousham Park Gardens is a gateway built around 1733-1740 by William Kent. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features chamfered rustication. The gateway is designed in a Palladian style, complete with a pediment and a six-panelled door. It is flanked by ramped walls that contain marble statues set in niches. This gateway serves as the entrance to the gardens, which were also designed by William Kent during the same period. Rousham Park is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
