Description
The Barge, formerly known as the Old Row Barge Public House, consists of two sections. The left section was likely rebuilt in the mid-19th century and is taller, featuring a tiled roof and brick construction. It has one window, which is a double-hung sash with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there is a two-light window with a segmental arch and a modern casement. The section has a plinth. The right section, which is of 18th century origin or earlier, has a lower pitched tiled roof and is made of rubble. It includes one small three-light casement window and another three-light casement window on the ground floor with glazing bars, situated under a wooden lintel. There is a plain door located under a tiled gabled porch, with brickwork on the side. The Barge is part of a group with Nos. 80 to 84 (even), the Hospital of St John, and Nos. 86, 90A, and 90.
