Description

Woodpie Cottage is a small house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with some squared quoins and features an old plain-tile roof with brick gable stacks. The building has a two-unit plan with a rear outshut and stands one storey plus attics. The front has two windows and a doorway located to the right of centre, flanked by three-light casements, all of which have brick segmental arches. There are also two gabled two-light dormers and a stack to the left. To the extreme left, there is a 20th-century rubble and tiled extension. The lower part of the wall shows remains of earlier squared rubble walling. At the rear, there is a leaded casement. Inside, there is a winder stair beside the chimney breast.
