Description

This is a cowhouse, dating to 1801. It is located approximately 22 metres south of Greenfield Manor. The building is constructed of flint rubble with brick dressings, and has a hipped and gabled roof covered in old tiles. It is arranged in an L-shaped plan. The single-storey structure features brick jambs to two doorways, window openings with shutter hinges, and ventilation slits. Inside, there is a queen-post roof with clasped purlins, and a king-post truss where the wings of the building join. The cowhouse is listed for its contribution to the group value of Greenfield Manor.
