Description

The Well House is a 17th-century house located in Shiplake Crowsley. The lower portion of the house is built of flint with brick dressings; the upper portion has a timber frame with brick infill, and the roof is covered with plain tiles. A brick stack rises from the ridge to the left of centre. The house follows a baffle-entry plan and is two stories high with a four-window front. A plank door is located to the left of centre, covered by a gabled hood. The ground floor has an irregular arrangement of five windows, predominantly 20th-century casements. The first floor has four windows; a horizontal sliding sash window is present to the left and to the right of centre. The interior of the house has not been inspected. A single-storey outshut is attached to the right return.
