Description
The orangery, located approximately 120 meters north of Shirburn Castle, was built in the early 19th century. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a gabled Welsh slate roof. The structure is one storey high and has a nine-window range. The front is arcaded with tall round-headed windows that have cast-iron lights with vertical divisions. The rear elevation is similar, and the side walls consist of three bays. Inspection of the interior was not possible, and the description is based on photographs and printed sources. The orangery was likely constructed in anticipation of a royal visit in 1808. Shirburn Park and Gardens are listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Gardens at Grade II.
