Description

Somerville House is a double fronted villa, possibly designed by S.L. Seekham, built around 1850. The building has a two-storey front and a three-storey rear with a cellar. The front elevation features two twelve-pane sash windows at ground floor level and three twelve-pane sash windows at first floor level. There is an entrance porch supported by Grecian Doric columns made of stone, with pilasters behind. The structure includes a full entablature and a three-stepped podium. The roof is slated, hipped at both the east and west ends, with a central valley. There are two chimney stacks on the east elevation, two on the north, and one on the west.
