Description

No. 69 on Old High Street is a house that may contain some remains from the 17th century, but its exterior appears to have been remodeled in the 18th and 19th centuries. The building is two stories tall and constructed of ashlar stone, featuring a long rectangular plan that is positioned at right angles to the road. There is a modern brick wing on the southeast side. The house has a moulded eaves cornice and a red tiled roof, which includes four gabled attic dormers with 2-light casement windows. The west gable also has similar dormers. The chimney stacks are cement-faced with brick shafts. There are five 18th to 19th century sash windows set in plain stone reveals, and the front doorway is topped with a modern flat hood.
