Description

The inscribed stone located on the Thames Towpath at Long Bridges in Kennington Backwater dates from around the 18th century. This pillar stone stands approximately three feet tall and is inscribed with the words 'Here end the L - of the City of Oxford'. It marks the historical boundary of the City of Oxford, which was established before 1881.
