Description
69 and 70 High Street is a house and shops that form a single building. Originally built in the 18th century, it has been altered over time. Before about 1935, it was noted for its good 18th-century brickwork and window design, but now features a modern stucco front with contemporary shop fronts on the ground floor. The building is three stories tall with cellars, a moulded eaves cornice, a parapet, and brick stacks. It has six sash windows with plain reveals. At the back, there is modern brickwork with glazing bars. Inside, there is an 18th-century staircase and some panelling. All the listed buildings on the south side of the street form a group.
