Description

The Barton headstone, located approximately 1 metre south of the nave of the Church of St Mary, is a Grade II listed headstone dated 1708 in memory of Mary Barton. Made of sandstone, this upright slab stands around 800mm high and features a curvilinear shaped head with a recessed front. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of 14-year-old Mary Barton in 1708.
