Description

The Hodg headstone, located approximately 9 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St Mary, is a Grade II listed memorial dated 1731 in memory of Sarah Hodg. Made of sandstone, this upright slab stands about 450mm high and features a curvilinear-shaped double head with a recessed front panel. Both heads are crudely carved with winged cherub heads. The inscription is in Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, commemorating the death of Sarah Hodg in 1731.
