Description
Northdown House, built around 1860, is a three-storey building constructed of stock brick with stone dressings. It features a parapet and a dropped modillion eaves cornice. The façade includes a central pediment and a three-light projecting bow on the right side. The building has end quoins and a total of eight sash windows, which have verticals only and are adorned with moulded architraves. Most of the ground floor windows are fitted with Regency blinds. Under the pediment, there is a stone Tuscan porch that includes a triglyph frieze, two pilasters, and two and a half columns. The porch is enclosed with two round-headed sashes and a round-headed doorcase that has a fanlight. Inside, there is a good staircase.
