Description

Woods Court is a manor house dating from the 16th century, substantially refaced around 1759. The construction is timber-framed and faced with flint and bands of red brick. It has a plain tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high on a flint plinth and has red brick quoins. A hipped roof is present, along with a large, moulded stack to the left and a later single stack to the right. There are five mullioned wooden casement windows on the first floor, and three on the ground floor, each with transoms. A rib and stud door is centrally located on the right side, set within an arched, double chamfered brick surround. The interior retains possible remains of a screens passage. A plaster overmantel is present, featuring a Lombard Frieze design. Moulded beams are supported by corbels.
