Description

Garrison Point Fort was built in the 1860s to replace the fortifications designed by Sir Bernard de Gomme in 1669. This semi-circular fort features granite blocks on the seaward side, which include blank cambered arches, and ashlar blocks on the landward side, which support two tiers of gun emplacements. The fort has a granite parapet and end quoins, along with modern look-outs on the roof.
