Description

Ash Manor, located on Church Lane in New Ash Green, was built by the Fowler family in the early 17th century. The building consists of two parallel ranges and is three storeys high, constructed from red brick with a tiled roof. There is a string course above each floor, and a central projection that contains a porch on the ground floor, with two storeys above it, topped by a gable featuring a date of around 1637. Small gables are present over the outer second-floor windows. The manor has three sash windows with intact glazing bars and chimney breasts at both the north and south ends of the east range, along with some casement windows in the north wall. Inside, the manor features 17th-century twisted balusters at the top of the stairs, fine late 18th-century painted pine panelling, several 17th-century panelled rooms, and a Priest's hole.
