Description
Holly Tree House is a house or barn, originally a house and shop, dating from the 17th century, with a 19th-century facade and addition. The building is timber framed, featuring a front of red brick in Flemish bond to the left of the stack, and red and grey brick to the right. The rear is weatherboarded on the ground floor and rendered above, topped with a plain tile roof. It has two 17th-century timber-framed bays to the left of the stack and one 19th-century brick bay to the right. The house is two storeys tall with a hipped roof to the left and brick gable end stacks, along with a ridge stack to the right of the centre. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of three 2-light casements with segmental heads: one at each end of the left section and one in the centre of the right. There is a boarded door with a segmental head in the centre of the left section. To the left, there is a red brick lean-to with a boarded door and a bricked-in shop front at the front, along with a multipane window, horizontally-sliding sash, and ribbed door at the left gable end. Inside, the building features jowled posts and some exposed framing. It is included for its group value.
