Description
This is an oasthouse located about 10 metres north of Great Sheephurst Farmhouse, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The ground floor is constructed of a chequered pattern of red and grey brick, while the first floor is weatherboarded. The kilns are made of red and grey brick, and the roofs are covered with plain tiles. The building has a rectangular stowage area that is two storeys high, with two circular kilns situated at the north (right) gable end. There is a cogged brick eaves cornice on the kilns, a hipped roof on the stowage, and conical roofs with cowls on the kilns. The stowage features a first-floor loading door on the left gable end, another loading door at the rear towards the right end, and one single and two double doors on the ground floor at the rear. There is also a boarded door at the base of the kilns. The interior has not been inspected.
