Description
The former Central Hall, located at No 120A on the east side of High Street, is a building that is reputed to date from the 17th century, although all its external features are from the mid-19th century. It was formerly a Baptist chapel. The building is a single storey and is finished in stucco with a tiled roof. It features a pediment-shaped parapet with triangular acroteria at both ends and a moulded eaves cornice. The front is flanked by panelled pilasters and has three 19th-century pointed arched casements. There is an off-centre porch that includes pilasters, a cornice, and a pedimented parapet with triangular acroteria. Additionally, there is a one-storey extension to the south. The interior retains an adult immersion font that is sunk into the floor. This building is listed for its historical interest as a non-conformist chapel.
