Description
This building, located at 2 Cattle Market on the corner with Delf Street, is a timber-framed structure dated 1601, as indicated by the bressummer on the east front. It was modernised in 1928. The building has two storeys, featuring eight windows on the north side and three on the east side, with a plastered front. The first floor overhangs, supported by a moulded bressummer with carved brackets and a corner post that has another carved bracket shaped like the figure on a ship's prow. The windows are modern, and there is a blocked doorway on the east side, which is flanked by fluted Ionic pilasters and topped with a carved lintel. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 12 (even).
