Description
Preston Court is an early 19th-century house built of buff brick with a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high on a plinth, featuring a rendered plat band and a paired modillion eaves cornice. The central part of the facade projects slightly and is topped with a parapet. The hipped roof has stacks on both the left and right sides. The windows are arranged regularly, with three glazing bar sashes on the first floor and two on the ground floor, all equipped with louvred shutters. The entrance features a central half-glazed door with sidelights, set within a rusticated surround and accessed by a flight of seven steps leading to a Doric porch. The site is historically significant as the location of an ancient manor where Juliana, the "Infanta" of Kent, died in 1367, and it is associated with fish ponds.
