Description
The East Kent Sessions House, built in 1808 by George Byfield, is a two-storey building faced with Portland stone ashlars. It features a cornice and a parapet, with five windows. The central window bay and doorway are flanked by a Doric column and a pilaster on each side, supporting an entablature. The glazing bars are intact. The double doorcase includes pilasters, a flat hood, and a rectangular fanlight. The architrave is decorated with fasces and the Phrygian Cap. The building has group value with the wall and railings associated with the Sessions House.
