Description
The School Hall, originally part of the grange of St Augustine's Abbey in Canterbury, dates from the early 16th century. It is a long timber-framed building, with the ground floor rebuilt in 16th century red brick. The timber framing is partly visible above on the east side, where it is infilled with red brick, although some sections are weatherboarded. The first floor on the west side is entirely weatherboarded. The building has a tiled roof supported by ten king posts inside. The west front features two projections that were originally wagon entrances, adorned with tiled gables and two small red brick buttresses at the lower part of the ground floor. The east front is distinguished by seven loop lights.
