Description
Cumberland Cottage and Pear Tree Cottage, formerly known as the Duke of Cumberland Inn, date from the 18th century. The building is two storeys high with attics and is constructed of red brick featuring some grey headers. It has a hipped tiled roof with two dormers on Pear Tree Cottage. A stringcourse runs along the building. There are six windows in total: the first floor has casement windows, while the ground floor features sashes with intact glazing bars. Cumberland Cottage has a simple cambered doorcase on its side elevation, although the doorcase for Pear Tree Cottage is not visible from the street.
