Description

St Alphege Church Hall was built in 1847 and is designed in the Egyptian style on the site of a church of the Knights Templar. The building has two storeys and a front that is cement-rendered, featuring a cornice and two end pilasters. The tile cornice is supported by two large half columns with Lotus flower capitals. The structure tapers towards the top. The side and rear elevations are made of brick and include three metal-framed lancet windows. The entrance on the side is flanked by two cemented obelisks. This hall is part of a group that includes Nos 16 to 22 (consecutive), a red brick garden to No 20, an outbuilding, railings, a post, and a wall at St Alphege Church Hall.
