Description

Great Bachelors Hall is a 15th-century timber-framed building with close-studded construction and plaster infilling. The ground floor was rebuilt in the 17th century using red brick with grey headers. The roof is half-hipped and tiled. The house was originally built by the Allard family, but in 1614 it passed to the Bachelor family through marriage, and is named after them. The first floor retains original casement windows, six small and two large, with diamond-shaped leaded panes and old green glass. Two modern casement windows are located on the ground floor.
