Description
The Paddocks is a small square building dating from around 1800, standing two storeys tall and constructed of white brick. The west, north, and south fronts each feature two windows, with each window bay flanked by pilasters that extend to the full height of the building. It has a wide bracket eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof with a chimney at the apex. The windows are round-headed, horizontally-sliding sash types with Gothic glazing. The west front has a central doorway flanked by narrow pilasters, topped with a curved pediment, and the door itself consists of six fielded panels. There is a ground floor addition to the east. This building was likely constructed to accommodate Lord Thanet's trainer or stud groom.
