Description
The granary, oasthouses, and stable block at Halden Place, located to the east of the house, date from the early 19th century. The granary is a two-storey structure made of red brick, featuring five windows and four loft doors. At the south end, there are three cylindrical red brick oasthouses topped with conical roofs that have wooden cowls and modillion eaves cornices. A stone inscribed with 'L S J 1809' is located at the junction of the granary and the south-west oasthouse, likely marking the date when the oasthouses were added. The stables are believed to be from the 17th century and display a much-defaced stone cartouche bearing the arms of the Guldeford family, who owned the Manor of Halden from the early 15th century to the early 16th century.
