Description

This is a pair of cottages located on The Street in Appledore, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. They are included on the heritage list for their group value. The cottages are tile-hung with a half-hipped tiled roof and a central brick chimneystack. Number 33 features a three-light canted bay window extending through both floors, with sash windows having only vertical glazing bars. It also has a pedimented doorcase containing a six-panel door, with the top two panels cut away and glazed. Number 35 has a smaller first-floor canted bay with similar sash windows and a 19th-century shopfront. The shopfront includes three segmental-headed windows on either side of a central doorcase.
