Description
The First In and Last Out Public House, located at 37 Wales Street, was built in 1833 and is a late 18th-century building. It features two storeys and an attic, constructed of red brick with a grey brick string course, a toothed eaves cornice, and an old tiled roof. The south front has two grey brick panels and a three-light window on the first floor, along with a three-light window and an arched door on the ground floor. The door frame projects and is adorned with Tuscan pilasters and an entablature. The entrance consists of a four-panel door with panelled reveals and a fanlight above. The windows are sash types with glazing bars. On the east side, there are three windows on the first floor, and on the ground floor, there are two windows and two doors, which include both sashes and casements.
