Description

No. 34 Colebrook Street dates to around 1800. It is a two-storey and attic building with brick walls, a stone moulded cornice, and a stone capping to the parapet. The roof is a mansard style covered in old tiles, with two dormers in the attic. The front has three windows and a central doorway with a semi-circular arch above, featuring a tympanum and fanlight. The panelled door is recessed and flanked by freestanding Roman Doric columns and an entablature. The two ground floor windows are 3-light sashes with similar arches and fanlight tympana, featuring glazing bars. Brick stacks have moulded caps. A side wall is covered in tiles. According to Richardson and Eberlein's "Smaller English House of later Renaissance," the building is representative of the style.
