Description

The stables and bothy, built around 1900, are located 100 metres northeast of Amport House. This structure forms the north and east sides of the courtyard created by the earlier stable block and is taller and more elaborate in design. It features yellow brick walls with stone dressings and a hipped slate roof, standing two storeys high.

On the inner (south) side, there is a gabled centrepiece flanked by wings containing two windows each, with a return block of four windows completing the L-shape. The upper windows are half dormers with hipped roofs, while the centrepiece includes a high loading door framed in stone, featuring a pediment, panelled pilasters, and a key and cill supported by three brackets. The lower openings are plain with cambered arches and stone cills.

The return block is symmetrical on its west face, topped with a pediment gable above the two taller middle windows. The outer (north) elevation maintains the same style, presenting an impressive appearance with the pediment gable and high loading door off-centre. It has two half dormers to the east and one to the west, along with a middle band of small ventilation openings arranged in a 2-2-2 pattern. Additionally, there are three sash windows on the east side, which are also hipped roofed dormers with cambered openings, and the structure features a high plinth.
