Description

No. 23 High Street is a house with a shop, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stucco and features a low-pitched hipped roof that is now covered with pantiles. The building has symmetrical elevations with three windows on the north side and two windows on the east side, of which all but one are blank.

The design includes an eaves fascia supported by spaced brackets, which are square mutules with a circular pattern beneath. There are bands at the first and second floors, plain pilasters at the second floor corners, quoins at the first floor, and vermiculated quoins at the ground floor. The windows are fitted with sashes set in reveals. The ground floor has a late 20th-century shopfront beneath an older continuous cornice.
