Description
Combe Wood Cottage is a building dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. The west gable features exposed old timber framing, while the front (south) elevation is constructed in brick. At the rear, there is a parallel addition that creates double gables on each side. The cottage is two storeys high and has four windows. It has a red tile roof that is half-hipped, with the rear being hipped on the east side and gabled on the west. The eaves are adorned with brick dentils. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond, with rubbed flat arches and a plinth. The windows are sashes set within reveals. The doorway is topped with a canopy supported by brackets, flanked by pilasters and an architrave, and features a six-flush-panelled door. On the west side, there is a modern ground floor bay, while the other windows are casements.
